To serve God and our Country by helping our elderly and disabled neighbors and those who care for them thrive.
Betty Heck played many roles for many people, but mostly she was an advocate and helper of the elderly people in her community. Betty was honest, genuine, generous, ambitious, empathetic and passionate about helping all those she met. Betty would be the one driving her neighbors to medical appointments, helping them with household chores or just bringing a meal to someone who was lonely. Betty did not have an abundance of resources, but that did not stop her. She encountered many obstacles along the way, but she never gave up. Betty gave her time, talents and treasures to help those around her until her death.
Throughout her life and as she grew older she found it difficult to help as she once could, and then eventually found she too needed help in her final days here on earth, she made her wish, that all her elderly neighbors would receive the help they needed, known to her daughter LouAnn Haw. LouAnn founded Betty's Wish to honor her mother Betty’s benevolent life and help to fulfill her mothers wish, to assist seniors and be a helping hand to those in need.
Betty’s Wish is a 501(c)3 nonprofit focused on helping our elderly and disabled neighbors and those who care for them.
Betty’s Wish was created to honor the memory of Betty Heck. We strive to uphold her qualities of caring, and compassion by giving our time, talents and treasures to those in need.
